70 Years of Champions: Ocean City’s Night in Venice Promises Unforgettable Celebration

Celebrate the 70th anniversary of Night in Venice on Saturday, July 26, 2025. Night in Venice is the highlight of summer, promising an unforgettable day and night filled with dazzling displays, vibrant community spirit, and fantastic entertainment.

The heart of Night in Venice is, of course, the boat parade, which kicks off at 6:30 p.m. This year’s optional theme, “70 Years of Champions,” offers a chance to honor legendary teams like the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles, or any other triumphant individual or group from the past seven decades. It’s an open invitation to let your imagination run wild!

Want to be part of the magic? Whether you’re decorating a boat or your bayfront home, entries are now being accepted. You can sign up online at www.ocnj.us/NIV or by calling 609-399-6111. All participants will receive a commemorative mug and poster designed by local artist, Aaron “Bogy” Bogushefsky.

There are plenty of ways to soak in the festive atmosphere. You can grab a prime spot at the Bayside Center (520 Bay Avenue). Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for children (12 and under). In addition to a fantastic view of the parade, you get access to a picnic spot, snack stand, face-painting, a DJ, and bleacher seating. Admission is limited, so purchase your tickets early! This spot is also perfect for the grand finale fireworks, which take place at approximately 9:30 p.m. after the parade.

If you prefer a more relaxed approach, the parade is free to watch from other areas along the bay. Bleacher seating will be set up at various street ends, and a free shuttle service will be available from remote parking areas, making it easy for everyone to join the celebration.

The celebration starts even before Saturday’s main event! Get ready to groove on Friday, July 25, at 7:30 p.m., as Boat House Row: The Yacht Rock Experience takes the stage at the Music Pier. This incredible six-piece band will transport you back to the smooth sounds of the 1970s and 1980s, performing hits from legends like Hall & Oates, Michael McDonald, Kenny Loggins, and Steely Dan. Tickets are available for $25 and $30, and can be purchased online at oceancityvacation.com/boxoffice, by calling 609-399-6111, or in person at the Music Pier Box Office, City Hall, the Welcome Center on the Ninth Street causeway, and the 46th Street Information Center.

Ready to hit the ground running? The third annual Night in Venice 5K Run and 1-Mile Walk is set for Saturday morning, July 26. The 5K race begins at 8 a.m. at 19th Street and Haven Avenue, followed shortly by the one-mile walk. This flat, out-and-back course along Haven Avenue and the adjacent bike path is perfect for all ages and fitness levels. Registration is open now at www.runsignup.com/NIV5k and proceeds benefit the OCHS cross country and track teams.

Mayor Gillian shared his enthusiasm for this year’s event. “I want to thank Dave Winslow and the Night in Venice Committee, the city and Chamber teams, our sponsors, all the marine safety personnel, and the community for putting this event together. I’m looking forward to another fun year for Night in Venice.”
