Arrest Made in Ocean City Boardwalk Hidden Camera Investigation
An arrest has been made in connection with hidden cameras found in public bathrooms along the Ocean City Boardwalk. Harold Perkins, 38, of the 4200 block of Glenview Street in Philadelphia, was taken into custody on June 20 at approximately 6:20 a.m.
The investigation began on June 12 when police officers responded to a report of a recording device found in a public bathroom at 6th Street and the Boardwalk at approximately 12:25 p.m. A subject reported finding the hidden camera. A subsequent search of all public bathrooms on the Boardwalk led to the discovery of several additional cameras at both 10th Street and 11th Street.
The Ocean City Police Department’s Detective Bureau has been investigating the incident. Their investigation led to the identification of Perkins as a suspect.
The arrest was a collaborative effort, with detectives from the Ocean City Police Department, detectives from the Special Victims Unit of the Philadelphia Police Department, agents with the Department of Homeland Security (HSI-Atlantic City), and a K-9 Unit with the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General executing court-authorized arrest and search warrants. These warrants were served at a residence and vehicle in the 4200 block of Glenview Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Perkins remains in Pennsylvania awaiting extradition proceedings. He faces charges of Invasion of Privacy (6 Counts) and Endangering the Welfare of Children (Manufacturing Child Pornography) (6 Counts).
