Dive In! 45th Annual T. John Carey Masters Swim Returns to Ocean City

Get ready to make a splash! Registration is officially open for the 45th annual T. John Carey Masters Swim in Ocean City, New Jersey. This highly anticipated open-water swimming event is set to take place on Sunday, July 13th, at 4:30 p.m.

A staple of the Jersey Shore’s summer calendar since 1979, the Masters Swim offers competitors a unique and exhilarating challenge. The one-mile ocean swim follows a scenic point-to-point course running parallel to the beach. Swimmers will be treated to unforgettable views of the boardwalk, making for a truly memorable experience.

The 2025 race will be south to north. Race directors may change the direction based on favorable wind and tide conditions on the day of the race.

If the course runs south to north, the starting line will be in the vicinity of 20th Street Beach and proceed to 12th Street.

If the course runs north to south, the starting line will be in the vicinity of 12th Street Beach and proceed to 20th Street.

As of today, check-in will be from 3 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. on the beach at 20th Street

Free parking will be available for participants at the Ocean City Community Center, located at 1735 Simpson Avenue, with shuttles running to the start of the race and back to the Community Center after the race..
