November in Ocean City Kicks Off with Community Spirit
The first full weekend of November brings a mix of charitable fundraising and community engagement to Ocean City, New Jersey.
On Saturday, November 8th, the Ocean City Police Department (OCPD) will be holding its popular “Coffee With Cops” event. The event is designed to foster open communication between police officers and the citizens they serve.
This is a key component of the OCPD’s Community Policing Unit efforts, offering a distraction-free, informal setting to discuss any questions, thoughts, or concerns about local policing and neighborhood issues. The event is co-sponsored by the library, ensuring a welcoming environment with free refreshments.
- When: Saturday, November 8th, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM
- Where: Ocean City Free Public Library (Atrium outside the library, 1735 Simpson Avenue)
The largest event of the weekend is the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk, scheduled for Sunday, November 9th. The event was rescheduled from its original date in October. This vital fundraiser is a powerful demonstration of solidarity, hope, and courage.
The event is one of the nation’s largest and most impactful breast cancer movements. It is a chance for the community to rally around survivors, thrivers, and caregivers.
- A Pep Rally for Hope: This high-energy event includes an inspiring stage program, music, dancing, and the signature “Survivor & Thriver Celebration.”
- Focus on Wellness: In addition to the walk, several health screenings will be available, offering the public checks for cholesterol, blood sugar, and blood pressure.
- When: Sunday, November 9th, at 10:00 AM / Survivor & Thriver Celebration 11:00am
- Where: Ocean City Civic Center (Sixth Street and the Boardwalk)
The summer crowds may be gone, but the Ocean City community remains vibrant and engaged, focused on supporting important causes and strengthening local bonds.
