Ocean City Beach Patrol Teams Up with KB Foundation for Empowering Youth Event

Thanks to a collaborative effort between the Ocean City Beach Patrol (OCBP) and the KB Foundation, twenty-five young men from the Philadelphia area are set to experience a unique day of learning, mentorship, and fun. This initiative aims to provide underserved youth with valuable life skills, an introduction to potential career paths, and a memorable summer experience.

The KB Foundation, a Philadelphia-based nonprofit, is the driving force behind bringing these young men to Ocean City. Founded on the principle of transforming lives, the organization is dedicated to empowering underserved youth through a comprehensive approach encompassing mentorship, education, and career exploration.

The Foundation believes in providing tangible opportunities and experiences that can broaden horizons and inspire future success. Their programs often focus on exposing youth to different environments, fostering personal growth, and connecting them with positive role models. By partnering with organizations like the Ocean City Beach Patrol, the KB Foundation creates impactful events that go beyond traditional classroom learning, offering real-world insights and instilling confidence. July 30th’s activities will center around a “Lunch & Learn” event at Ocean City’s 12th Street Beach. The OCBP will host a mini lifeguard camp, offering hands-on instruction in beach safety and essential lifeguard skills. Participants will engage in team-building exercises, fostering camaraderie and cooperation, before enjoying a group lunch alongside members of the Ocean City Beach Patrol. This direct interaction will provide the young men with a unique opportunity to learn from and connect with dedicated public safety professionals.

Following the educational and interactive beach session, the afternoon promises pure enjoyment on the iconic Ocean City Boardwalk. Thanks to the generous support of local businesses, the boys will indulge in classic boardwalk entertainment, including arcade play at Jilly’s Arcade, delicious pizza from Manco & Manco, a round of mini golf at Playland’s Golden Galleon Golf Course, and refreshing treats from Kohr Bros.
