Ocean City Bikes Rolls onto the Boardwalk with Newest Location at Wonderland Pier

OCNJ Local- Ocean City Bikes

There’s a new buzz on the boardwalk, and it’s rolling in on two, and sometimes three or four, wheels. The much-loved local business, Ocean City Bikes, is celebrating the grand opening of its brand-new boardwalk location at Wonderland Pier.

Many in the south end of Ocean City are already familiar with Ocean City Bikes’ flagship store on 34th Street near  Hoy’s 5 & 10. It is a go-to spot for all things cycling: retail, service, and, of course, rentals. Now, with their prime boardwalk spot, Ocean City Bikes is bringing their passion for pedaling to an even wider audience.

“I love Ocean City; we live down here full-time. We’re a biking family,” shared Bill Nicoletti with an infectious enthusiasm. A former triathlete and avid rider himself, Bill understands the joy of exploring the island on two wheels. He saw an opportunity to not only provide a valuable service but also to enhance the vacation experience for visitors and residents alike. “When we go on vacation, we’d love to rent bikes, and we as a family saw that there was an opportunity to open up a bike shop down here.” What truly excites Bill about this new boardwalk location is its unique position. “We’re the only ones on the boardwalk in Ocean City,” he proudly stated.

The new boardwalk location boasts an impressive array of rental options, catering to every kind of rider. Surreys, a boardwalk staple, are easily accessible right from the shop, eliminating the need to navigate ramps. A full selection of durable aluminum beach cruisers promises a smooth and enjoyable ride, while trikes offer a stable three-wheeled option. For families with little ones, kid bikes and trailers are also available.

Ocean City Bikes makes renting a breeze, with options ranging from hourly to weekly rentals.  Bill highlights a popular perk: “One of the things that we’re offering for our weekly rentals is free pick up and delivery, all that happens right online or it happens with a phone call or in person, but people seem to like that; that’s catching on.”

Ultimately, for Bill Nicoletti, the driving force behind Ocean City Bikes is simple: “We’re just happy to make people happy. That’s what I’ve been getting the most out of right now.” He recounted a recent instance where they went the extra mile to deliver bikes to a couple, emphasizing the fulfilling nature of exceeding customer expectations.

So, whether you’re a local looking for a new cruiser, a vacationer eager to explore the boardwalk on a Surrey, or just someone in need of a bike tune-up, Ocean City Bikes has got you covered.

Be sure to check out their new location at Wondland Pier on the boardwalk. You can also find them at their flagship store on 34th Street, or explore their offerings online at oc-bikes.com.
