Ocean City Lights Up: Dazzling Drone Show to Debut at Fall Block Party

Ocean City Drone Show

Just when you thought October in Ocean City couldn’t get any better.

The Fall Block Party has been a staple on most locals’ calendars for years. But this Saturday, there’s a new feature you won’t want to miss.

Come nightfall, the sky over OC will light up with a dazzling display of artistry. Over 300 drones will perform a breathtaking light show over the island, celebrating all things Ocean City and Autumn.

Drone Light Shows are revolutionizing aerial entertainment. Combining cutting-edge technology with artistic creativity, drone shows offer a modern, unique, and captivating experience.

The show will be “performed” by hundreds of illuminated drones, choreographed to create intricate visuals in the sky. Jeromie Hunter, owner of Cape May Aerial and producer for Saturday’s show, designed the show to celebrate the unique appeal of Fall in Ocean City.

Equipped with GPS, sensors, and LED lights, the drones will take flight from a grid near 6th Street and fly as high as 400 feet into the air. Each drone is pre-programmed with a flight path and timing to ensure accuracy and safety.

The Ocean City show will be set to music which will pipe from the boardwalk speakers, similar to Ocean City’s beloved firework displays.

“Drone Shows are not meant to replace firework shows,” says Jeromie. “They are meant to enhance fireworks and provide versatility in aerial entertainment offerings.”

While Ocean City firework displays will always have a place in the events line-up, Drone Shows are sensory friendly, pet friendly, and environmentally friendly. They do not produce loud noises or emit harmful chemicals or debris.

The show will begin at 8PM and last approximately 12 minutes. The best viewing will be from the beach or boardwalk, but should be visible from most places on the island.
