Ocean City’s July Jubilee: A Month of Family Fun Begins
As summer heats up, so do the events happening here in Ocean City.
The summer’s first “Wacky Wednesday” is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on July 2nd at the Music Pier, featuring a hands-free apple and cherry pie-eating contest, free for the first 150 participants of all ages.
Also on July 2nd is the annual Freckle Contest. The contest will take place at 6 p.m. outside the Music Pier, with registration at 5:30 p.m.
On Thursday, July 3rd, the first of two summer Sand Sculpting Contests will be held on the Sixth Street beach, with free registration starting at 9 a.m. for all age groups.
The Ocean City Pops, led by Maestro Vince Lee, will delight audiences with three outdoor performances at Carey Stadium. On Wednesday, July 2nd, the orchestra will present “Star Wars: The Completed Symphonic Saga I-IX,” a musical journey through John Williams’ iconic scores. Attendees are encouraged to come in costume, with a contest for children 12 and under. Tickets are available for $17.
In celebration of Independence Day, the Pops will hold free outdoor concerts on July 3rd and July 4th at 8 p.m., also at Carey Stadium. The performances will feature patriotic classics and audience favorites. The July 4th concert will lead directly into the city’s fireworks display.
The Greater Ocean City Theatre Company (OCTC) launches its 2025 Summer Children’s Theater Series with “Curious George: The Golden Meatball (TYA)” at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 1st at the Music Pier. The series will continue with “Elephant & Piggie: We Are in a Play!” on July 8th, “Pinkalicious!” on July 15th, “Pete the Cat” on July 22nd, and the Tony-nominated “A Year with Frog and Toad (TYA)” on July 29th. Tickets are priced at $11 in advance and $13 on the day of the show. They are available at oceancitytheatrecompany.com.

- Fridays: Low Impact Beach Exercise (8 a.m., 6th Street Beach), Walking Club (8 a.m., Music Pier)
