Your Guide to Celebrating the Fourth of July in Ocean City: From Morning Parades to Evening Fireworks
The patriotic celebrations begin earlier in the day with a series of beloved family bike parades. Participants are encouraged to embrace the holiday spirit by decorating their bicycles in red, white, and blue.
The South Ocean City parade will commence at 10 a.m. at 40th Street and Asbury Avenue, with registration opening at 9 a.m. The route concludes at the 52nd Street and Haven Avenue playground, where refreshments and prizes await.
The Gardens parade will start at 10 a.m. from the Longport Bridge parking lot, registration will also open at 9 a.m. The parade concludes near Beach Road, where refreshments and complimentary T-shirts are available.
The Riviera Neighborhood will host its parade at noon, starting from Rosemar Lane Park, with registration at 11 a.m.
As evening approaches, a kite-flying competition will take place at 7 p.m. on the beach near the Music Pier, adding to the day’s festive atmosphere.
In celebration of Independence Day, the Pops will hold free outdoor concerts on July 3rd and July 4th at 8 p.m., also at Carey Stadium. The performances will feature patriotic classics and audience favorites. The July 4th concert will lead directly into the city’s fireworks display.
The Fourth of July fireworks will illuminate the night sky at 9 p.m. this Friday. The grand fireworks display will be launched from a barge in the ocean near the Music Pier, offering prime viewing from the beach and Boardwalk between Fifth Street and 14th Street. A festive musical simulcast will accompany the show, broadcast over the Boardwalk’s public address system. To accommodate the celebration, Ocean City’s beach curfew will be extended to 10 p.m. for the evening of July 4th.
