Tickets On Sale for Righteous Brothers, Tina Turner Tribute Shows at Music Pier

Ocean City music fans have two new reasons to mark their calendars this summer.

The Righteous Brothers will perform with the Ocean City Pops Orchestra on September 19, bringing their Lovin’ Feelin’ Farewell Tour to the Music Pier. Bill Medley, whose distinctive bass-baritone helped land the duo in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, has been performing for more than six decades. The show promises a run through the duo’s biggest hits, including “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’,” “Unchained Melody,” “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life,” “Soul and Inspiration,” “Ebb Tide” and “Rock and Roll Heaven,” spanning everything from early rock and roll to the Blue-Eyed Soul era and the soundtrack of Dirty Dancing.

On July 19, “Simply the Best: The Music of Tina Turner” comes to the Pier courtesy of Spot-On Entertainment. The tribute show is led by two-time Grammy winner Tamika Lawrence and Broadway performer Shaleah Adkisson, fronting a trio of vocalists celebrating the career of the woman born Anna Mae Bullock. Turner sold more than 100 million records, won twelve Grammy Awards, and was the first Black artist and first woman to appear on the cover of Rolling Stone. Expect a setlist built around “Proud Mary,” “River Deep, Mountain High,” “Private Dancer,” “Better Be Good to Me,” and the chart-topping “What’s Love Got to Do With It.”

Organizers also announced that the previously scheduled Ben Vereen Show, which had been set for July 19, has been postponed. Ticket holders for that performance will receive a full refund to their original method of payment.

Both new shows take place at the Ocean City Music Pier, with performances starting at 7:30 p.m. Tickets and additional information are available at oceancityvacation.com/box-office.
