Thousands of Cyclists to Roll Into Ocean City This Weekend for MS City to Shore Ride
A fall tradition returns to Ocean City this weekend, as cyclists from across the country ride from Cherry Hill to the shore in the Bike MS: City to Shore Ride, supporting the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
The ride takes place September 26–27 and is one of the nation’s premier cycling fundraising events, aiming to raise more than $4 million for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society this year. More than 4,000 cyclists are expected to ride the back roads of South Jersey over two days, and participants have raised over $100 million since the first City to Shore ride in 1980. Riders will start early on Saturday, September 26, from Cherry Hill at the Woodcrest PATCO Station. Participants aged 12 and older, of all skill levels, can join on either or both days, selecting from routes of 27, 40, 75, 100, 150, and 175 miles. The finish line is located between 5th and 6th streets on the boardwalk, at the Ocean City Municipal Fox Trot Lot, which organizers call the most festive part of the ride. Many participants stay overnight in town, and on Sunday, they ride back from Ocean City to Cherry Hill via Atlantic County.
