Dave Winslow Named Ocean City Chamber’s 2026 Citizen of the Year
Night in Venice chairman and City Council vice president to be honored Nov. 18 at the Ocean City Yacht Club
The Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce has named Dave Winslow its 2026 Citizen of the Year, recognizing decades of community service, civic leadership, and dedication to the town he has called home for nearly half a century.
The Chamber will honor Winslow at its Citizen of the Year, Outstanding Business, and Beautification Awards Dinner on Wednesday, November 18, at the Ocean City Yacht Club. The evening will also celebrate local businesses, organizations, and individuals recognized in this year’s Business and Beautification Awards.
Winslow’s ties to Ocean City go back to 1954, and he has lived in town year-round since 1977. Over that time, his service has touched nearly every part of community life, including volunteering with local youth organizations, serving on the Board of Education, and holding leadership roles in civic organizations and local government.
To many residents, Winslow’s name is closely linked to Night in Venice. He joined the boat parade committee in 1983 and became chairman in 1985, a role he has held for most of the years since.
Winslow was elected to City Council in 2023 and now serves as its vice president. In 2024, the Chamber presented him with its Outstanding Contribution to Community Service Award.
Professionally, Winslow built a career in hospitality and human resources, including serving as vice president of human resources for Genting USA. He has also taught at Rutgers University and created a pro bono leadership program for local business leaders.
Family remains at the center of Winslow’s life. He and his wife, Kathleen, have been married for 46 years and raised three sons in Ocean City. All three graduated from Ocean City High School and became Eagle Scouts. The couple are also grandparents.
“Dave Winslow is truly deserving of this recognition. His decades of dedication to Ocean City, his leadership, and his commitment to preserving the traditions that make our community special are an inspiration,” said Patrick McMahon, president of the Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce. “Dave’s contributions have made a lasting impact on Ocean City and we are proud to honor him as our 2026 Citizen of the Year.”
