Fire Contained by Ocean City Fire Department
The Ocean City Fire Department successfully contained a structure fire at 104 Atlantic Avenue late Friday night. The fire, which was reported via a 9-1-1 call at 10:49 P.M. on August 8, 2025, prompted an immediate response from the Ocean City Department of Fire & Rescue Services and the Ocean City Police Department.
Fire department crews arrived on scene at 10:52 P.M. and reported heavy smoke and fire conditions on the second floor in the rear of the building. The on-scene incident commander declared a working fire, which led to a full department recall of off-duty members and automatic mutual aid.
Members from the A Platoon of the Ocean City Department of Fire & Rescue Services contained the fire to its structure of origin. All occupants were able to exit the building, and no injuries were reported to either civilians or firefighters.
The fire was extinguished and placed under control. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
Mutual aid was provided by the Marmora Volunteer Fire Company, Strathmere Volunteer Fire Company, Somers Point Volunteer Fire Company, and Upper Township Rescue.
