Ocean City Annual Bike Auction Set for Tuesday, July 7

Looking for a new set of wheels for the summer? The Ocean City Police Department is getting ready to clear out its inventory, offering residents and visitors a chance to score a great deal at the city’s annual Bike Auction.

The auction is officially scheduled for Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Shelter Road Compound.

This popular local event features approximately 70 bicycles, alongside a variety of other items. All merchandise hitting the auction block has been recovered by the Ocean City Police Department and officially deemed abandoned or unclaimed.

Because the auction draws a steady crowd of bargain hunters and cycling enthusiasts, organizers recommend getting there early. Registration opens at 9:15 a.m., giving attendees plenty of time to sign up before the bidding action kicks off.

What You Need to Know Before You Go

If you plan on bidding, make sure you come prepared with the right identification and payment methods, as the auction has strict municipal guidelines.

• Location: The Shelter Road Compound. To get there, take the first left off Tennessee Avenue, located directly behind the Ocean City Municipal Golf Course.

• Rain Date: If severe weather rolls in, a rain date has been established for Wednesday, July 8.

• Registration Requirements: You must present a valid driver’s license, passport, or government-issued ID to receive a bidding number.

• Payment Terms: Cash, local checks, and bank checks (with ID) are the only accepted forms of payment. Credit and debit cards will not be accepted.

• Buying “As-Is”: Keep in mind that all items are sold in “as-is” condition. While some bikes may be ready to ride immediately, others might be perfect fix-up projects for the garage.
