Salt, Rust, and Luck: Why Your Ugly AC Unit Could Be Your Golden Ticket with Broadley’s

Broadley's Ulgy AC Unit contest

For over a century, the strength of a community has been measured by the neighbors who step up to support one another. In South Jersey, few names are as synonymous with that spirit as Broadley’s Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning.

As a third-generation, family-owned business, Broadley’s has been a fixture in the local landscape for decades. Their history isn’t just written in the services they provide to homes in Ocean City and beyond; it’s etched into the fabric of the community through a long-standing commitment to giving back.

The Search for the “Ugliest AC” in Town

While Broadley’s works hard to support local nonprofits, they also look for creative ways to help individual homeowners. This month, they are turning a common coastal headache—corroded, salty, and rusted air conditioners—into an opportunity for one lucky neighbor.

Broadley’s has officially launched the April Ugly AC Contest. They are on the hunt for the sorriest, most rusted, and most “appalling” outdoor AC condenser in the area. The winner of the contest will receive a brand-new outdoor AC condenser (valued at up to $2,500), just in time for the summer heat.

The contest is open to owner-occupied, single-family homes in the local service area. If your unit has seen better days (or better decades), now is the time to show it off.
