Two-Step Toward Thriving: Local Nonprofit She Thrives Hosts Line Dancing Fundraiser in Ocean View

Dust off your cowboy boots and get ready for a night of rhythm, connection, and community impact. Linwood-based nonprofit She Thrives has announced an energetic new community fundraiser, “Two-Step Toward Thriving: Dance, Connect, and Support She Thrives,” coming to Cape May County next month.

The country line dancing benefit is scheduled for Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM at the Dance Dynamics Studio, located at 2609 US-9 in Ocean View.

A Perfect Blend of Passion and Purpose

For She Thrives Executive Director Misty Aspenberg, the inspiration behind the event strikes a deeply personal chord.

“I am not only the Executive Director of She Thrives, but I also grew up as a dancer,” Aspenberg shared. “I have taught at local studios for the past 20 years and thought this event would be a fun way to combine both! We get to enjoy a fun night of community, connection, and getting outside of your comfort zone to maybe learn something new, all while supporting the women we serve.”

The evening is designed to be a vibrant night out for the broader community, but it also serves as a rare, well-deserved break for the women at the heart of the organization. “Our moms are excited too,” Aspenberg added. “It’s not often that they get to go out and enjoy a night just for them!”

Supporting Atlantic County Single Mothers

Based out of Linwood, She Thrives primarily serves women across Atlantic County, stepping in to bridge the gap between crisis intervention and sustained independence. The nonprofit’s core mission is to walk alongside single mothers who are striving to transition from day-to-day survival to long-term stability, personal growth, and financial independence. Through a mix of community building, targeted education, and practical encouragement, the organization helps families rebuild a future they can sustain.

According to Aspenberg, the nonprofit’s underlying philosophy sets it apart from traditional aid.

“At the heart of She Thrives, we believe that our women don’t need to be fixed, they need to be supported,” she explained. “We’re not just trying to help moms survive hard seasons—we want to help them build stable, meaningful lives and healthy support systems that last.”

What to Expect: Beginner-Friendly Fun

If you have two left feet, don’t let that keep you off the dance floor. Organizers emphasize that the evening is entirely beginner-friendly and meant to be fun, not intimidating. “Most people probably won’t know how to line dance!” Aspenberg laughed.

Attendees can expect professional, easy-to-follow line dancing instruction paired with excellent music. Beyond the dancing, the night will feature high-quality raffle baskets, light bites, drinks, and plenty of photo opportunities in a relaxed, high-energy atmosphere.

Ticket and Attendance Information

The event is open to the public, welcoming both men and women from high school age and up. Because the evening is styled as a lively night out, organizers encourage guests to grab their friends or make it a unique date night.

“Come for the fun, stay for the purpose,” said Aspenberg. “You don’t have to know anyone or be a dancer to enjoy the night. Sometimes the best way to support something meaningful is simply showing up! We would love to connect with you.”

And for any local single mom who might be hesitant to buy a ticket, Aspenberg offers a heartfelt welcome: “You don’t have to have it all together to walk through the doors. Most of us don’t. We know life can feel heavy sometimes, and our hope is that women leave our spaces feeling a little more supported, encouraged, and hopeful than when they came in.”
